In 2019, the Board of Directors decided on the Group’s Policies on Climate Change Issues to clarify the role we are to play in overcoming climate change issues. We’re aiming for carbon neutral by 2050 with CCS as one of key business development targets to achieve sustainable energy cycle in society.
In UK, through the history since 1955, Sumitomo has been involved in wide range of business industries including oil and gas, metals, power, water, agriculture etc.. In 2020, Sumitomo has been selected to participate in the feasibility study for Bacton Energy Hub project by Oil and Gas Authority (currently North Sea Transition Authority), and currently contributes as the lead company of the Hydrogen Supply SIG(Special Interest Group).
